Deer by the Brook

The Deer by the Brook print portrays a deer contemplating its reflection beside a gentle brook.

The design was first done in watercolour and born out of the founders' ambition to foster self-acceptance and nurture confidence.

Our Inspiration

In life, we often grapple with self-doubt, questioning our worth and abilities. We at Panteth are no exception to this cycle of self deprecation.

Through chats with friends and peers, we realise this is not unique to us.

Our aim in crafting this artwork is to encapsulate a serene moment of stillness, inviting you to partake in this brief pause and acknowledge your own journey.

We are where we should be

One prompt that has worked well for us in getting out of the cycle of self-deprecation is "Everyone's journey is unique, and we are where we should be".

The Deer by the Brook print is a poignant reminder to turn inward for validation and assurance, rather than seeking it from external sources.

We hope to offer a haven for rest and self-reflection through our apparel.

We want our apparels to feel like a warm and soft embrace.

Design details 01.

To encapsulate the warm fuzzy feeling of being hugged and understood, all materials are specially chosen for their soft qualitites.

Design details 02.

Prussian blue and red are common colours used in ukiyo-e designs.

Following through the theme, we selected this beautiful shade of blue as our print colour.

Design details 03.

Silkscreen printing was specially chosen as the method of printing for its durability. Numerous rounds of testing were conducted to ensure the ink sinks into the fabric and is smooth to touch.

Ukiyo-e Inspired

We were very inspired by the slow craft of ukiyo-e, where the design is carved stroke by stroke before printing.

We find the slowness of the process calming, and is similar to the transformative journey of oneself.

Much like the design process, the evolution of one’s self undergoes various iterations before becoming who you are today.

From watercolours to the Ukiyo-e print on our Tees, the "Deer by the Brook" design went through various iterations and all hold the same message:

We are where we should be,
